  1. It contains only carbohydrate and no nutrients. It increase blood sugar level very fast which is not good for health. Alternative is that use simple sugar.

  2. Sugar is super-concentrated by humans for our consumption.  The level of sugar that you eat is way, way more, every day, than you could get in an ordinary diet "in the wild".  We cook massive amounts of beets or sugar cane and then eat it concentrated.  Your body craves it so much, because it is very hard to get in nature.  The natural counter-balance to sugar in your body is insulin.  Insulin kicks in to stabilize your blood-sugar level after you have had sugar.  The problem is, when you get massive amounts of sugar (which you do because it is hyper-concentrated), your body shoots in a lot of insulin.  The sugar gets converted to energy or fat pretty quickly, but the insulin stays in your bloodstream a lot longer; that's why you get the big "crash" after sugar. Many things are bad for you if you eat highly concentrated amounts.  Think of eating 500 carrots a day, or drinking 50 glasses of water.  The way we eat processed sugar is similar. There are, of course, alternatives.  But the truth is, if you start eating less of it, you will crave it less.  Like any addiction, it is painful for a while, but then you will feel a lot better.  Start by drinking no soft drinks.  Then try not to have dessert.  After a while, you won't even think about it much.

  3. sugar is healthy, untill it gets mixed with our stomach acids then it becomes fat to us, but if we were animals we could eat all the sugar we want and nothing would happen to us

  4. Sugar is like almost everything else in your diet: it isn't inherently good or evil. Attaching moral judgments to a food is just silly.

It does have pure carbohydrate calories, and it has no other nutritional factors, so its role is limited in a well-balanced diet. And of course those at risk for diabetes are stressing the capabilities of the Islets of Langerhans if they use too much. Complex carbohydrates tend to be a better choice for the bulk of your carbohydrate intake both because some of them are metabolized more slowly and because other nutrients are included in those foods. Dinner with a pasta entree and an interesting sauce is obviously more varied and less boring than emptying the sugar bowl into your gullet.

  5. Contains calories which makes us put on weight.

You could try the brand called Splenda.

  6. Sugar is bad for us because it provokes the body to produce more insulin the get the sugar out of our blood.  What we don't convert for immediate use in the body is stored as fat.  Also, with long term and consistent spikes in blood sugar levels, people can develop insulin resistance and diabetes.  We find sugar to be delicious because our bodies are still hard-wired for survival, in which case we want to eat the most efficient fuels possible, sugar being one of those, and storing fat is not a bad thing.  It is a bad thing if our exercise is getting up from our desks and walking out to our cars in the parking lot.
