About the ATT unlimited texting plan...?

I have the ATT unlimited texting plan. My friend has the Verizon unlimited plan and her parents recently got hit with a CRAZY bill because we texted all the time. The reason this happened is because we're on different networks. My parents are freaking out that ATT has extra cost for texting out of network too. I think that on ATT you can text anyone, but my parents think otherwise. So who is right?

I work at att and heres the scoop.  If you have the true unlimited plan (you would be paying 20 dollars for one phone or 30 for the whole family per month) then you will not have a problem with this.  A long time ago we offered a deal where you paid for x amount for text messages and for 5 extra dollars you could have in network unlimited texting - verizon has this same deal.  so it depends on your texting plan but more than likely you are ok.
