About the Apple in Twilight?

Does Anyone know how that fits in with the story? If you do plz explain. Thank you

i always thought it was just like red apple..red blood.....that and the whole "heres an apple my preety..eat it and die!!!!" kind of a evil thing

It fits with the story of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit in the book of Genesis in the Bible. The apple represents the forbidden fruit: the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. The apple is referring to Bella and Edward's knowledge of good and evil, as well as Bella being the forbidden fruit to Edward; her blood smells the sweetest and she's human, and Edward's bringing her into the world of vampires is of great danger to her, thus her being "forbidden" on his part.

On Stephenie Meyer's website she says it represents the forbidden fruit. Both Edward and Bella are the forbidden fruit to one another but are tempted and ta-dah! We know the rest...

The apple represents temptation. Eve tempted Adam with the apple. Adam listened to the devil and consumed the apple. Both Adam and Eve were banish from eden by god. And for that we are still paying till  today.

I used the scripture from Genesis (located just after the table of contents) because I loved the phrase "the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil." Isn't this exactly what Bella ends up with? A working knowledge of what good is, and what evil is. The nice thing about the apple is it has so many symbolic roots. You've got the apple in Snow White, one bite and you're frozen forever in a state of not-quite-death... Then you have Paris and the golden apple in Greek mythology—look how much trouble that started. Apples are quite the versatile fruit. In the end, I love the beautiful simplicity of the picture. I read about this on her website, I think. It's supposed to represent something forbidden, such as vampires. You, Adam and Even, the forbidden fruit? It's supposed to represent that.
