Does anyone know or own a lexus 400h (hybrid) and have any opinions on it? Does it really save on gas? Is it as safe as regular suvs/cars in the winter? Do you think it is worth the money and would you recommend this suv to another? Also, compared to a car how is the gas mileage?

  2. I have an opinion get a diesel powered SUV instead. paying 50-60 grand for a car based SUV isnt the route i'd go much less a hybrid one.

You get alot less towing capability with a Hybrid. There is no infrastructure in place to this day to handle all the battery recycling of the battery in any hybrid. Forget what the dealer says about it lasting 8 years under warranty. there are plenty of people griping right now that their dealer is denying claims of bad batteries. If these bateries last so d**n long why arent they in laptops and cell phones. oh and if you have to pay for the battery hope you have a spare 4-5 grand laying around. do some research diesel vehicles arent what they used to be and some pollute less than conventional gas vehicles and get great fuel economy. when a hybrid battery starts going bad so will your mileage. The Lexus is built on a car chassis which means you get limited off road ability. Its almost twice the price as your C300. You wont get the same level of service after the sale like you get with your MB. Get an ML320 CDI. even though diesel is more money it gets way better mileage than a gas version and you wont have to worry about batteries and Hybrid technology. and you can run vegetable oil eventually in that diesel. Who is gonna work on that hybrid when the wararnty is out? hmmm? again 50-60 grand is in the range of the MB.

plus diesels have loads of torque. I had a MB I love them. Lexus is just a toyota in  tuxedo. compare the rav 4 to it you will see lots of similarities and see that it has a cheesy interior for sooo much money.

  3. I have an RX400h and I LOVE this vehicle!  It TOTALLY saves on gas, when compared with comparable cars boasting a 292 horsepower V6 engine.  I live in Southern California, and I've driven to Las Vegas (approximately 300 miles from where I live), and still had more than a quarter tank of fuel.  I average 28 MPG on the highway, and 33 MGP on the highway.  I did my research when I bought this car 2 years ago (before gas prices were ridiculous), and it was only a few thousand more for the hybrid (meaning my monthly payment only increased by $50 or so).  There are a lot of other determining factors, though, such as your credit score, debt-income ratio, gross monthly income, etc.  As far as winter driving is concerned, I don't feel I'm at liberty to address this question, as we do not typically have adverse driving conditions here in SoCal.  And if we did, I'd probably be at home rather than braving the forces of Mother Nature.  I hope my response has helped you!

  4. the lexus does save you gas with  28 City 25 Hwy but it not good suv for offroading it doesn't have low range gearbox that good offroaders have also the suv cost 40,000 instead you should buy 2003 land rover discovery for 10,000 and land rover discovery never break down and are perfect for road

    p.s

use the 25,000 to fill the car with gas for the next  5 years
