Question:

About the Priceline "name your own price" feature?

I'm looking to go to California with my husband and friend, but when we name our own price as priceline, it's significantly cheaper. BUT, I heard that you're not guaranteed to sit together if we all do that, and we'll most likely have to sit in seat away from each other. Is this true? I'm not asking how the feature works, because I already know that, I just want to know if I should just spend the money and get a more expensive flight so we can all sit together...

  1. I only use Priceline for hotels, and I love it. Is it that important that you set together on the plane ... afterall, you can meet new people, or many are willing to switch. Save money for California ... the expensive state. Bon voyage!

  2. I booked my flight directly through the airline and booked both tickets at once, I still didn't have a seat next to my fiance.  There was a very simple solution though.  We asked someone to switch with us and they were more than willing to.  Just get to the airport with plenty of time before your flight.  Seats are assigned at check-in not at purchase.

  3. That's really up to you.  Do you want to spend more so you can sit together?  When you check in for your flight, you could always ask if they can move your seats to put you closer together, or you could try trading when you get on the plane.
