  1. Well, depending on their age you could assign them to cut out from magazines things in one single color (i.e.different tones of blue, different tones of pink) and paste them on the box, then cover each side with a coat a of liquid glue to protect.

  2. You could take pictures of them and put it on there.

There's always just having them paint it and maybe put some sequence or glitter on it to make it more "flashy."

  3. It would help if you include age groups and how many children.  Think about their personalities and ages.  Some suggestions are coloring books or little easy-to-read books (get at $1 store), small cars/trucks if boys, tiny little dolls if girls.  My grandkids are ages 1, 2, and 3 (boys and girls).  They love to play with inexpensive things.  Give them a container and something to put in it.  Give them an empty box! They usually get tired of the toy, but the box gets played with every day.

  4. have them cut out pictures from mag. and newspapers and paste them over the outside.

  5. Well you can put an eye mask, colors, small pictures or design stickers, candies, gums, little toys, etc...

  6. you can put candies, crayons, lollipops,

  7. well to have the box get their attention, make it seem like a really big deal. say,"OMG YOU JUST HELPED ________ PICK UP SOME CRAYONS  GOOD JOB YOU DESERVED A TREASURE FROM THE TREASURE BOX,"  AND JUST GO GET CHEAP TOYS FROM THE $1 STORE. EASY AS THAT.
