  1. I am becoming a pro at these Ovulation Test Strips, and trust me, they are Very Confusing. The reason why you have faint test lines, is because Your body always has a little bit of LH in you. It has to be As dark or Darker then the control line when you actually are having a surge. But be careful, because The OPK's don't always catch the surge. It can happen very quickly, and if you're only testing once a day, it can miss it in some women. If you can.... test twice a day, once at noon, and once at 6.

The OPK missed mine last month, but I caught it "sort of" this month. I usually test at 5:30, but Sunday, just for the heck of it, I decided to test at 2:30, and I got a line ALMOST as dark, but not quite. But Since I hadnt even had 2 lines before Sunday, i thought maybe it was positive. SO just to be on the safe side and to confirm, I tested again at 4:30pm,and the test line was Totally faint!(negative) SO then I was really confused. Turns out I did ovulate on Monday( I could tell by my BBT on Tuesday) so the "almost as dark" test line was actually giving me a positive, but I think I caught it on the way down. so It wasnt quite as dark. Bottom line....you cant trust them. Sorry long answer.lol. I hope it helps a bit.

  2. Your body makes LH all the time, so the manufacturers try to make the strips so that you can see when it's building up towards ovulation. So you're likely to have a few with no line, then some with faint lines, and finally (hopefully) some with REALLY dark lines. Those are your peak readings (+OPKs) and they indicate that ovulation is imminent in 12-36 hours. Then after a day (or two or three) of very dark lines, you'll get another fainter day. That first day of negatives after a positive is the actual day of ovulation. Hope that helps.

  3. I used those test strips but they were so difficult to interpret! You're supposed to do them the same time of day, not drink too much water, not drink too little water - they were a pain. In the end I got an ovulation microscope, which is a tiny little thing that you just look at your spit each day with. When you ovulate is is like a fern pattern rather than oval blocks, so easy to tell the difference. I got preggers first time with that!

If you get fed up with the strips, heres a link to the microscope thing.

  4. They are abit expensive but i invested in a clearblue fertility monitor. It is so easy, it does up as low, high or peak (peak is when your about to ovulate).

I would recommend it to anyone!!!

    Good Luck!!

    xx
