  1. The best thing to use for a new piercing is non-iodized sea salt and warm water. That's 1 liter of warm water (I use bottled aquafina) with 1 teaspoon non-iodized sea salt mixed in it. When I'm needing to do a soak I put some of the mixture in a cup, put it in the microwave for about a minute and wait for it to cool so it's not too hot but so it's still warm and soak the piercing that way. With a navel piercing you can put the mixture in a small cup or a shot glass and put that over the piercing to soak it for the 5-10 minutes twice a day.

Do NOT use table salt or anything with iodine in it - that will sting like h**l and prolong healing time. Also don't use peroxide, rubbing alcohol, bactine or any of that stuff - it will all do more harm than good and will prolong healing time which can cause an infection. Epsom salt has a lot of chemicals in it, which can also cause an infection.

It's normal for a navel piercing to be red and sore after having it for a month, it's still a new piercing. Navel piercings can take 6-12 months to heal.

  2. i used sea salt on it...it should help heal it...but if its been a month then i suggest going back to the place you got it done and have them check it out for you

  3. epsom salt its like sea salt thats what i used

  4. i had the same problem...the lady at th eplace just told me to keep cleaning it with soap and water though... dont touch it to much and def dont try to change your piercing.

    good luck

  5. itll probably take a while go to the place where you got it pierced and ask them

  6. DONT USE PEROXIDE like the first answer said. You can try sea salt or epsom salts. Basically you fill a small glass with water and salt then place the opening of the glass around your piercing ( use a towel b.c. some water ,might leak out) then hold it there for about 5-10 minutes. Do it about 2 times a day.

You could also try using some witch hazel. Soak a cotton swab in witch hazel, and apply it to the piercing, making sure you rotate the ring-or bar up and down so it goes inside to clean.

If none of this works after a week, try seeing your doctor as you may have an infection which will need an antibiotic. Good luck

  7. salt won't make it infected your supposed to use non-iodized sea salt (1/4 tsp) mixed with 1 cup of water 2-3 times a day.  you can either use that or you can use H2Ocean

  8. about of the salt thing is wrong... but CVS sales a spray that is for belly piercing a don't know the name, but if you ask for it.. they'll tell you..
