About the speed of a car

why is my nissan sentra series 4 supersaloon twin cam 16valve only runs about "50mph" (80kph) "fifth gear" AT "2,200rpms"? because i know some other cars run 60mph (100kph) at 2,200rpms... can i do something so that my car can run at 60mph at 2,200rpms too? thanks,,,

  1. get a cam with performance 1500-6000 rps, but make sure to change your other engine components lifters, rods,etc...

    also change the gearing in transmission.


  2. It all has to do with the transmission gearing.

    Yes, you can do something about it but it would involve changing the gears in the transmission or replacing the whole transmission.  Neither option is cheap nor easy.
