I was wandering about the overall presence of yahoo answers. don't u people think that very few questions are understood properly and answered. the rest are either have lack of clear explanations or taken wrongfully. some time people ask nasty things just to type anything, and sometime good questions are answered to mock or earn point. I don't want to say that I dislike Yahoo!answer or anything. but the point is this that can we not make it more clear or logical place to ask. answer. & discover.

Yes, you can. The best way to start making this a more clear and logical place is to begin with yourself by making sure that you're doing all that you can do to help the site.  ;-)

Questioners can ask questions that seek knowledge and actually have enough detail (and proper language) to be understood. Many times a lack of information and the "tone" of a question prevents good answers from being forthcoming. Questioners can also remember to pick a best answer to their question, if they did get a useful answer. Forgetting allows the community vote on a question and thus MANY questions are stuck in a unresolved state for a long time or an incorrect answer is chosen.

Answerers can answer questions by throughly reading the question and aiming to actually answer the question presented. If they don't know an answer and don't care to look up the answer, then they shouldn't answer. If they have an answer, it should be an answer to the question, and not an unsolicited opinion of the questioner or off topic.

While I don't appreciate the community guidelines being changed with no "real" warning, some of them have been on the books for a while. This is a user-monitored community, so if you see a violation (i.e. "nasty things", point gaming, and etc.), then you should click the "report abuse" button near the Q&A and let the staff know about it. See http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers... and http://yanswersblog.com/index.php/archiv... before you start reporting to learn about what does and doesn't constitute abuse. Also, when you reach Level 2, you can thumbs up or down answers to indicate the correctness of an answer.

If you want, you can be more pro-active in the Yahoo! Answers community by contributing suggestions in the Forum (http://suggestions.yahoo.com/?prop=answe... ) or trying to participate in the Town Hall (see http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers... ).

If everyone does some of the above, the site probably will improve.
