does anyone know or know how to find out what year the word Feline was first used in scripture?

  1. I checked and can't find anything about the origin of the word feline

    on the Internet. Just keep searching. Sorry.


  2. Im not sure, it's probably latin. All I know is that it means cat and canine means dog. There are some other animals that end with -ine. Dunno, try looking it up. (arachnid means spider, scorpion and crab).

  4. In scripture? The Bible?  If by feline you mean just a house cat, you're out of luck--housecats seem to have been overlooked by the various writers.  

    Lions are in there, but their scientific name is Panthera leo, so feline is a bit of a stretch for that.

    The origin of the word is the Latin 'felis'.

    Can you be more specific, if this is not an adequate answer?
