Question:

About to Buy a 1996 Jeep Sport, What to Look For???

I'm about to buy a 1996 Jeep with 100k miles on it. I'd like to know what I need to look for as far as condition goes.

It obviously needs a paint job and a little free-onn, but even with my limited car knowledge I can spot these things.

Are there specific car deficiencies that I should look for when buying this car? I've noticed also that the car parts underneath the jeep have rusted easily, but from what I can tell that is fairly common with this year's design.

Mechanically what else should I look for before signing the sale papers? I have a Honda and it has quirks specific to it's make, model and year. The Jeep obviously has different ones and I'm just trying to search them out before hand.

Thank you!

  1. Drive it! If it feels like it has NO power take it by a shop to see if it can just be freshened up..... And look for rust ... you want no part of rust underneath the jeep exp
