About to buy a car yay but......

I haven't gotten the down payment yet.I'm selling my old car, for $1000 and I already have a buyer, but they can't pay till the 5th when they get paid.And that will be my down payment

So I'm going to be without a car when they buy it. My question is should i go ahead to carmax and get everything processed, so when i do get the money i can just bring it in and get my new car. B/c i don't know if I'll be able to make the monthly payments for that car, so i would still have to look around if i couldn't. And i would still be out of a car

can you make your own payments a month for a car or does the dealer?

wait till you've got the money in your hand b4 you spend any time or money on a deal that may or may not go through.

We had a version of telecheck that allowed us to take a post dated check.If you are dead set on CarMax, I'm quite sure they have it but I would shop a few new car stores used car lots for the car you want.No matter what stay away from the CarMax Service contract which is near worthless.

This is a good time to go shopping....for your financing.

Banks and credit unions can sit down with you and help you figure out how much money you can spend with your downpayment and the monthy payment you can afford. Check the web for other finance options.This way you know what interest rate is available to you and how much you can really afford to spend on that car.

Armed with this info, Your shopping trip will go easier and you won't get sold on a $200 dress with $20 in your pocket.
