i got a moped iv been looking at and i want it and all, but it says that a moped in texas is a vehicle that only goes 30 mph, the moped i want goes 85 mph, what do i do if i want to get the license for it and is it still legal because the website said it is legal in all states except cali. so do i have to register it as a motercycle? and does that mean that i take a motercycle test for a motercycle license instead of taking a moped test for moped license or is there really any difference in moped and motercycle license or is there no such thing as a moped license and that i have to get a motercycle license just because there is no moped license. IM CONFUSED.

  1. You should just call the DMV and find out from them.  You don't need a motorcycle endorsement on your license to drive a moped, but it sounds like Texas says that the moped you want is actually a motorcycle.

  2. If it goes that fast it is a motorcycle and has to be plated and insured and  you have to have  a motorcycle license. And that means  you have to be old enough. That is why texas is the way it is. Takes the import c**p off of the street and keeps kids from being on the public roads.
