Looking for a 32"-37", price not really an issue but I don't want to go crazy, and was looking currently at the Sony XBR models

Any suggestions?

  1. I would go with either a Samsung or a Sony.  I prefer the Samsungs.  The 6 and 7 series have much deeper blacks, I have found the XBRs to be a little too color saturated and backlit.

    32"

    Sony kdl32xbr6:

    Samsung ln32a650:

Edit: @ Sam P:  We have both of those Televisions in my store.  Hanging on the wall.  Maybe they have not released in your area, but we have had them for about a month now.  We also have a ln46a750.  Which is amazing.

The 32a650 is available at bestbuy.com we simply ordered it offline and hung it on our wall.  Seeing how the corporate office didn't ship us one for store stock yet.

I work @ best buy.  In the north east, and yeah I have seen that the manufacturers don't have them listed as shipping but we have had them for a little while....

The estimates ship dates on Sony's website are if you were to buy it from them the day it would ship to your house.  They have been available at retail establishments for a while now.

  2. The Sony would be a good choice, but knowing that the XBR6s aren't scheduled to ship until some time in June, you are going to have to wait a bit for this product.

It's funny how Jakey boy can comment on the XBR6 & LN-32A650 picture quality since niether are in the stores or shipping yet!

P.S. The Sony is suppose to support a gaming mode, so this would make a good choice to use with your PS3.

Edit: Jake you must be mistaken. There is no LN-32A650 or LN-37A650 listed on the Samsung site: http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/subty... How could you have this product hanging on the wall? Maybe you are referring to the fact that Samsung has been shipping LN-40A650 & LN-46A650 for the last 3-4 weeks! My experience tells me that picture quality does not always transfer down to the smaller sized TVs. We really should wait for Samsung to deliever on their promise to bring the A650 to a 32" or 37" TV before we comment on its quality or purchase recommendation, don't you think?

Sony XBR6s have been hanging on the walls for four weeks? That's odd. Sony says the KDL-37XBR6 & KDL-32XBR6 start shipping 05-22-08 (estimated date): http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor... http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stor...

The only 2008 Sony models I've seen have been the new M4000's.

Edit2: I have now seen that Sony is shipping the new S4000 and W4100 models to the retail stores. Still no signs of the XBR6s yet!

  3. Yes Sony Bravia LCD is great
