About to order Panasonic LCD, just seeing if I should check out anything else before...

Question

I'm about to order a Panasonic VIERA TC-32LX85 (600$ shipping included) -

I'm going to be using it mainly for PS3 and also just watching TV.

But I was just wondering if there was anything else around the same price or less, that is the same quality or better, and fits my needs?

Pretty much im just making sure that im getting the best bang for the buck ha

All I know is that I have never seen a Panasonic LCD before now.  Panasonic is known for their Plasma sets.

It does seem like a decent price though.

The Panasonic is a very nice LCD TV. This TV has a game mode. No Sony anywhere near this price range has a game mode. You are going to appreciate this feature when you use your PS3 on this TV. A game mode reduces the video buffering so that you can get a real-time video response to your game controller inputs.

This TV also has the least motion blur and jitter that I've tested on any non-120 Hz machine. In fact, this TV operates far better than the best (4ms) 6 or 7 series TV's from Samsung or the new (5 ms) Sony W or Z models with 120 Hz disabled. In fact, the Panasonic will never produce the artifacts that the Sony or Samsung models produce with 120 Hz enabled, yet jitter is very well controlled.

Finally, the TC-32L85 has good black levels and a very nice clear & sharp picture. Its picture quality equals that of the more expensive Sony models (is saying more expensive Sony models redundant?).

P.S. The March issue of Consumer Reports listed the Panasonic LCD HDTVs as the most reliable in 2007. Sony was in the second group of HDTV manufacturers behind Panasonic. Panasonic also currently has the best customer service.  In my opinion, Panasonic is the new Sony!

The Sony KDL-32L4000 does not have a game mode. The Panasonic is a better TV.

That's a very good price. Panasonic makes a nice set and they are reliable. I'd go for it (assuming Camera Addict is a site you can trust)

SONY LCDs are way better then panasonic especially if your going to use it for your PS3.I know they cost more but you better buy something good because thats going to live with you for a long time.
