About trine aspects?

Question

Since I have sun in cancer and moon in pisces would this mean that my sun and moon are in trine? Im kind of confused because they dont display this in my natal chart. (astro.com and cafeastrology for example). Or is it because there is more to a trine than just having 2 different same element signs. I dont know much about aspects. Thanks.

They most likely will not display this to you as a trine due to the fact that they are too far apart in degree to be considered "within orb" which is about 5 to 10 degrees for the Moon.  It also does seem to have more impact if the faster planet is applying or going towards the other.  The traits of that particular aspect will be stronger.  So, just having your Sun/Moon in the same element does not bestow upon you a trine between these 2 luminaries as there also has to be taken into account how FAR in degrees are they from eachother! :0)   This rule also applies for other aspects, although, the Moon is the only heavenly body given such a large orb of influence.  Some astrologers give her up to 10 degrees applying and separating from another planet/luminary.

The trine aspect is when 2 planets are 120 degrees apart from each other.

What you are referring to is that, two planets can be in trine by element. This is correct to interpret Sun and Moon in that manner but, when aspects are more alive, more energectic when they are in orb of an aspect to each other.

Ex...trines 120 deg

s*x. 60 deg

Opposition 180 deg

inconjunct 150 deg

etc.....

Your Sun/Cancer and Moon /pisces indicates that you have a keen sense of the inner meaning of words and that you can readily understand the mind and thoughts of other.s

With mental activity, you should alwayscombine suitable enjoyment and diversion so as to keep the system in good health.

For the most accurate analysis, an orb (allowance in degrees) is taken into consideration. Hence, your Sun and Moon placements are in Trined SIgns (4 signs apart from each other) but they''re too far off to be considered a Trined aspect (approx. 120 degs apart)

Because the Sun and Moon are the most impt primodal couple used ion Astrology and their influence is so strong, most astrologers have actually given an orb allowance of up to 5-8 degs for this to be considered a trine.

Hence, e.g. if your Sun in Cancer is 15' and your Moon in Pisces is 22', this is still considered a 'trine' aspect. However, if your Sun is something like 4' and your Moon is 18', then this is too far apart to be considered a 'trine'.



Generally, an individual with both the Sun & Moon in trined signs feel the harmonious effects of this aspect but its effects are somewhat subdued as compared to those with an actual Sun-Moon Trine aspect.
