My step daughter is coming to visit for the summer, and I want to have some things ready for her when she gets here. In clothes, I just got size 7s. But does anyone have a guess at what size shoe she would wear? What size shoe does your 7 year old daughter wear? I know it wont be exact, but if Im going to get some flip flops or something....

Anyway, I think shes on the smaller side of average, I would say she weighs about 45 lbs. Shes just slightly smaller than my 7 year old son, and he is 50 lbs and wears a size 1 shoe, but I think girls feet tend to be smaller. Any ideas would be wonderful! Thanks. Oh, and please dont say to call and ask her mother. Its a miracle that she is letting her come down here, but the woman never answers her phone and wouldnt be to excited to call me back.

  1. probably a four in kids or a three.

  2. My middle daughter is 7 and wears a size 1.

  3. I would say between an 8 to 11. and she sounds like with clothing it would be about a size 6 or 8.  Good Luck!  I hope it goes well with you all.

  4. try taking her shopping when she gets there and buy it then

  5. Ask your husband, or if he doesn't know, just wait until she comes down and take her shopping.

If you really want to get her something, then get her a headband or a shirt or something.

  6. around 12-1.  my granddaughter was about the same size and that is what size flip-flops she wore.

  7. take her to the store and try on sizes shoe 2-8 and clothes 6-10

  8. buy a few different sizes and see which one fits best. then return the ones that dont. that would be an excuse to go shopping.

  9. 12 or 1

  10. My 7 year old sister wears a size 11/12. She is about 45 pounds, around the same as your stepdaughter. I think 12 would be a good size, as if her feet are smaller it won't matter, because flip flops don't have to fit perfectly. You could aways take her shopping once she gets there so you would know what size to buy AND she could pick out whatever she wants. Good Luck

  11. I know you want to have some shoes waiting for her, but it's really hard to size a kid's foot up.  You could end up with one a size and a half too big, and end up having to take it back anyways.  I would just wait until she gets there and take her immediately to a store if she doesn't have shoes with her.  Though if she's flying generally they have to have shoes to do that.

  12. Its nice that your trying to have things ready for her. I'd try some flip flops your sons size or my granddaughters favorite, those ugly crocs with a back strap. You can use w/o the strap if they're to small.

My granddaughter has huge feet so i can't guess the right size for you. Mine is almost 11 and wearing womens size 9 shoes.

She wore a 2 or so at 7. Good luck.

My oldest grand was tiny and wore size 5 clothes for 3 years. She was about the size of your 7 y/o and had little feet.

I know what you mean about calling her MOm. I had to deal with that for years. The hardest part about getting married to a man withan ex and kids is not the kids at all. Its having an Ex wife you never expected to have. Who would have thought you'd have an ex wife, huh? She is just as much your problem as your husbands, right? Does she make your daughter feel like she should hate you because you're not her "real Mommy"?

Mine did but it was worth the pain. My two kids by marriage are my kids in every way but blood. They never called me Mom but they do introduce me as thier mother.  Plus i got to have lots more grand kids that way. Those kids are also my grands in every way.

Good luck, Mom #2. You'll get it right and your step daughter will grow up to remember with love all you have done for her.

  13. I think it's a great idea to get flip flops (as long as she can stand the thing in between her toes LOL...my 7 year old can't!)  That way it is something to throw on her feet until you are able to take her yourself to pick out additional shoes.  My 7 year old is average, and she wears a 1-2...her sister is two years older and on the short side for her age and wears between 2-4, depending on the shoe.  If you get flip flops, you can always find some pretty cheap pairs, so I would suggest getting two different sizes: 2-13 or 13-1 or 1-2.  I don't know the exact sizes the darned things come in...(still need to go summer shoe shopping for my girls LOL), but if you get one that's a little too big she can grow into them, and if one pair is too small, you are only out a couple of bucks.

Good luck and hope this helps!  Enjoy your summer with your step daughter.  It sucks when the custodial parent fails to provide them with essentials when they visit the other parent...isn't that part of the child support?!  At least she is lucky to have a great dad and stepmom!!

  14. my daughter is going to be 6 this summer, and she's on the smaller side, she just hit 40 pounds, and shorter than most the kids in her class, and i just bought her a pair of flip-flops today, a size 11 1/2 and they fit perfectly right now. So, i would think at least a 12...  if not even a size 1 like your son.  if the 1 is too big, you could always use them later for her.

  15. my little sister wears a 12 or 1 which is pretty normal for a seven year old you may have to ask her mom but if its just flip flops im sure 12 or 1 would work

  16. Either talk to her mother or take her shopping when she gets there. Dfferent kids wear different sizes at different ages. At 7 I wore an 8 or 10, but my step daughter was still in 5 or 6. She's almost 12 and still in kids shoes. (I was in a 10 at her age.) While she is short and small for her age and I was taller and bigger than average girls, but age has nothing to do with size.
