I need to clean my Pool Liner this year. I am going to completely Drain my pool... And then Clean the walls and floor really good. What are some cleaners i can use, that will be safe for the liner and safe after refilling it for those swimming?. I was thinking of using bleach in a spray bottle deluted with water and old towels. Would that be ok? liner isn't but 3 years old, but water got really green this year, and im NOT taking any chances just treating it. id rather drain it and clean it then refill..

  1. Any time you drain a liner pool completely, no matter it's age or if it's an above ground or in ground, you run the risk of the vinyl contracting and possibly snapping at a seam when you refill. It's never a good idea with this type of pool. Your idea of using chlorine in a spray bottle isn't good either. It'll bleach the liner.

Unless we're talking about heavy debris and sludge on the bottom, you're better off either getting a pro in to vac with a trash pump and balance the water ( it ain't balanced right now, I guarantee it, that's why it's green) or take the do it yourself approach if your's is a sand filter and vac using a vac plate and with the filter set to "waste" or "drain". That will get the junk out, without clogging the filter. You'll still need to balance the water. It may take 2 days , it may take a week, but it WILL clear if your water is balanced and you have proper filtration. Additionally, those above ground liners are usually in the 20 mm thickness range unless you specified thicker and paid for the extra thickness. Not something you want to tromp around on in boots.
