We have had our pool for a couple of years and we are finally putting it up again after maybe 1-2 years of not being able to. Well since then grass has come in and the liner has cracked. We need to take it apart, flatten the service once more, and KILL THE GRASS COMPLETELY!!! We have done it before but none of the products that we knew of worked really good...grass still came in made a hole and we would patch it up...but is there a better way to kill the grass completely? or what can i put under it to to prevent grass from penetrating through the liner and the small amount of sand we have put underneath? It's earth, couple of plastic bags, sand (clean sand) and then liner and the pool. What could be better what can I use to kill the grass and how do I set it up for success?!? Thanks

  1. turps will kill grass completely.

  2. try putting down an inch or 2 of salt under your sand

  3. pour gas all over the area

  4. Hi Jasmine, good luck  with the pool, wish I was there to get in with you. As far as the grass goes you can use super concentrated round-up then cover the area with black plastic.Use the recommended rate with the round-up and it should work fine. Good luck.

  5. I would suggest a good base of pounded clay, then your clean sand and a vapour barrier.

  6. after a real battle with the little women one day for coming home late cause she needed to use the truck i learned  to save alll my money on round up. I had a 2gal. bottle of pure chlorine in the bed of my truck and i guess it was in her way. So she just pours it out right there on the front lawn and a perfect circle of oh say 5ft. is gone and has been for 2 years now, grass, weeds or nothing ever grew back???? theres your answer
