Above ground pool filtration???

Question

If I control my pool water with chemicals, and keep it vacuumed, is it necessary to run the filter? I am having problems with the filter due to the water level and the fact that it isn't leveled very well.

You must still run the filter.

The filter not only helps keep it clean it also keeps the water circulating.
