Above ground pool set up 3 wks ago today the water started churning.Why?

the pump hoses are just at the water line not at the bottom of the pool.

Simply put.......I'm guessing, but on mine was a pump which includes and in and out action for cleaning the water and at times the churning action is very noticable...........it's just the impeller in the motor,that's driving water..........good luck

if it is what i think it is.

there are filters attatched to your pool that suck water out to clean it and what not. then the water has to be put back in the pool.

the churning could be from the cleaned water being blown back into the pool and disturbing the surface of your pool.

Could be subterrainean disturbance or unstable ground underneath!

Seismic activity like small tremors .
