  5. Abraham Lincoln presided over the greatest tragedy in our country's history. Largely through incompetence and indecision, he lead the country into protracted and extremely bloody civil war. During the war he suspended our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. He ordered the shameful practice of returning escaped slaves back to their owners.

    Lincoln's rehabilitation over the years is a huge historical con job. He did write good speeches - they were targeted for the specific audiences and generally told the people what they wanted to hear.

  6. He presided over a great act of treason, he was the one who caused the most damage to the USA, in money, material and human lives. If as he (Mr. Lincoln) said the south did not leave the union, then he violated the constitution by using American military forces on it's own citizens. Thus Treason

    If the south did succeed and formed a nation of there own, then Lincoln violated the constitution with a war of expansion, against a peaceful nation, Also against the constitution and again Treason

    The most costly traitor of American history,,,,, Old Honest Abe himself.
