So, I pulled up the code the other day to check my abs, it read out 1 blink then two 2 blinks so 1 2, I just want to double check with people here that what I got off the net was correct.. is code 1 2 indicating replacement of my abs motor pump? is it dangerous if I do not replace it? because I called a couple local auto shops and its gonna cost 1200 to fix!

  1. Code 1-2 means the ABS pump is not running when commanded to by the ABS Computer Module.  It could simply be the pump motor relay, it could be wiring, it could be a bad ABS computer, etc.  All these things need to be checked out by a professional Technician.  Preferably a Honda specialty shop where they see these re-occurring problems.

Can you live without ABS? Absolutely.  You car will not run any different than it does now.  You just wont have ABS, and your ABS Light will remain on.

These types of repairs can be very costly and in my experience most customers just lived with the ABS problem.

    I hope this helps.

  2. What i like to do with abs systems is to clear the system a couple times and see if the light stays off.  If it stays off, generally its a false light.  It could be that in your case.
