Absence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SPD-Smith-c2555 – Cricket News Update
Steven Smith, the young http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-South-Wales-c823 all-rounder, believes that the absence of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard will be a huge advantage for his team when they meet Trinidad and Tobago in the Champions League Twenty20.
Pollard and Bravo were http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472he key members of T&T setup in the West Indian domestic championship but when it came to the CL T20, both cricketers preferred to play for their Indian Premier League (IPL) outfits.
Bravo is currently representing Chennai Super Kings (CSK), whereas Pollard is in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 to serve Mumbai Indians.
After suffering from an embarrassing seven-wicket defeat at the hands of the South African team, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cape-Cobras-c776, the NSW men are set to take on T&T on Wednesday, September 28, 2011.
Despite the fact that the T&T side tasted a bitter defeat after a close contest against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians on Monday, September 26, 2011, the Caribbean Kings are in great rhythm at the moment. Therefore, it will not be a simple task for NSW to overcome the Caribbean
side.
However, Smith is confident about his ability to win the clash, reasoning that with the unavailability of Pollard and Bravo, the T&T troop is not as strong as it was in the domestic competition.
"Obviously, Pollard and Bravo are very good players, so that`s only going to help us. (But) we worry only about our own game and we`ll give it our best tomorrow and make sure we`ll be there at the end of the game tomorrow," said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Smith-c90598.
Talking about his team’s previous loss, the Aussie all-rounder was not ready to admit that the Kangaroos were outclassed by the Cobras. However, he held the conditions responsible for an ordinary show by his team, saying that it was not an easy track to
bat on.
"I thought the ball got soft pretty early the other day and definitely boundaries are the way to go with the newer ball, it`s probably the best time to bat. Later on, it was quite hard to find the boundary, the Cobras bowled well," added the 22-year-old
cricketer who has 44 wickets to his credit in 44 T20 matches.
