Absences Make A Squad Grow Stronger?

Question

Arsène Wenger believes the absence of Cesc Fabregas and Kolo Toure has allowed some very capable deputies to show their first-team credentials.

“It's a tricky situation. People want to see big names and they want to see good young players as well.”

“I believe that, when everyone is sharp, we will have much more invention,” he countered. “But you always want a player like Fabregas to be in there because he gives you the quality of the pass."

I think we focus too much on who's missing and who's not that we forget that while someone is injured we get a chance to see more talent come up!

i agree with wenger's statement

if the top players are missing,it gives the others a chance to show how good they are too

but it is best not to have many injuries cause that would affect the team especially when facing harder opponents we will need players like fabregas to make the squad stronger

Well it certainly worked last year when Arsenal's captain and "star player" left for Barcelona, the young guns really showed they could mount a title challenge but at some stage Wenger needs to settle down and have a mix of experience and youth

Maybe the absences of important players makes a squad grow stronger but it doesn't win the games... Barca was without a lot of important players last season and Bojan and Gio were starters many times, they played very good but that wasn't enough to win the game, it's nice to see young players in your team, like Barca against Boca Juniors, but only when Iniesta, Xavi and Eto'o came to the game Barca scored.... absences of important players at important matches can't be good, it doesn't matter that much against bottom league clubs but for any CL match you need full squad!!!!
