Abu Dhabi Grand Prix: The teams’ fears and aspirations (Part 2)
Red Bull

After having bagged the first Constructers’ Championship, the Austrian team is all prepared to get their hands on the Drivers’ championship of the 2010 season as well.
At present, the two team drivers, Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel stand at 2nd and 3rd places in the drivers’ championship with their 238 and 231 points respectively.
With only one more race to go and just 25 more points to play for, even though the chances of success of both team drivers are still alive, Webber stands at a much safer place as compared to his team-mate.
Just like the entire season, the team boss, Christian Horner has once again proclaimed that they are not going to follow any sort of team orders; both the drivers are free to race till the very end of the rope. Moreover, he also announced that he would prefer
losing the championship rather than winning by cheating.
Many of the race analysts believe that if the team continues the same strategy and does not ask one of its drivers to assist the other, it might lose the championship to Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. The Spanish driver currently tops the Drivers’ Championship
and has 246 points under his belt. In the present situation, if Vettel bags the next race win, just like the last round in Brazil and Webber follows him for second plac,e Alonso will only need fourth place to win the third championship of his career. On the
other hand, if Webber wins the next race, Alonso will have to finish at second place on the podium or he would lose the title to Webber.
Despite such a critical situation, the team stood firm on their stance that it would not ask any of its drivers to favor the other. However, only this morning (Friday) the young German racer, Vettel announced that above all comes Red Bull, and he will do
all he can to bring the second title to the team. Moreover, he added, that after looking at the situation on the track, if he felt the need to help his team-mate he will be more than happy to do so for the sake of the team.
While talking about his aspirations for the last round of the season he said that he is heading for a track that he has loved right from the first sight. Last year, the Yas Marina Circuit proved pretty good for the driver, as he qualified 3rd and
was able to end his race at 2nd place on the podium.
While heading for this year’s race, he said that he is looking forward for nothing but a top place for himself and the second title for his team.
Moreover, while commenting on the track he said, “The track has a good layout and the twilight aspect gives it a different atmosphere - it’s a good event. I think we have a great chance to go there and get a good result. There is a chance of the team getting
another championship, which is an exciting proposition.”
On the other hand, the other team driver, Mark Webber, enters the next race with some splendid memories to cherish from the last season.
In the 2009, the Australian wrapped up the season by a glorious victory on the track, this year he aims to wrap up the World Championship as he enters the beautiful arena once again.
While talking to the media before heading for the race, Webber said, “Obviously I have good memories from Abu Dhabi and I will be hoping to get another good result there this year, but let’s see.”
