yesterday night my dad was sleeping and i yelled so he chased me across the kitchen and when i got to the den he was right behind me he put me down and kicked me as hard as he could in the back, it killed. so then i lay there for a few minutes and the next morning it got better. This morning it feels bad again and half of my back feels like it is falling down or getting loose or something like my waist and my back feel (i don't know if they are) like they are getting looser and wider :(. I'm a 14 year old girl 5'4 and 106 lbs. MY REAL QUESTION IS will i stop growing or lose an inch or two because of this, and what can i do to fix this.

  1. Nevermind about your back.... you'll need to get it x-rayed to see if there's any serious damage, but in all likelihood you'll be fine after a while if you just ask a doctor to help you treat the injury...

... but you *really* need to tell the doctor how you got hurt and tell the police or someone else with some authority do deal with your dad.   Anyone who treats his own kid like that should be locked up where he can never hurt anyone again.

  2. First of all, don't mess around with your back. Have someone take you to the hospital and get it x-rayed. It is not possible to tell what's wrong just by looking at it from the outside and any injury that may be inside could be vitally severe.

Secondly, no man should EVER kick his daughter in the back like that. He needs to be reported for physical abuse. If you don't report him now, he may do worse next time and you won't be able to report him. You don't deserve to be treated like that, I don't care what you yelled out.

  3. i dont think that you will lose an inch or stop growing, but it is something that you should think about going to the doctor with. a broken or injured back is a serious issue- it can cause paralysis or chronic back pain. maybe you should sit down with your dad or another family member and tell them what happened, and how it really hurts you. you really shouldnt ignore this- it can lead into a really bad issue.

    good luck :)

  4. hun, ur dad kicked u? that i think is the real question, you should tell ur mother.  she can help u,

  5. Human heights are determined by mainly their skeletons. Therefore, if your skeleton is injured, there is a chance that growth would be affected (how will it be affected depends on how the skeleton is injured). You should check with a doctor to see if your dad's kick'd injured any bones. If it's just the flesh that's injured, then growth will not be affected. I am not clear about the conditions of your skeleton so I can't answer your question about if you will stop growing or lose one inch or two. But if you got better for even at least temporially as you said, it probably indicates that your skeleton is still compact and in place (so you can still grow). Your sensations, then, would be probably be only caused by muscles. Once again, talk to your doctor for details of treatments

Also, you should solve this issue of your dad. Reason with him, urge him to give up abusiveness since abusiveness is wrong. If he doesn't listen, contact social services and police.

    Good luck!

  6. i think u better go talk to a doctor about it or somethin

  7. go to the doc

  8. Not only should you be worried about your back, but you need to be worried about your dad as well.  There is no excuse for a father to EVER do harm to his children like that.  You need to talk to someone you trust, have them take you to a doctor right away, and then to someone who can help your dad.  He may need to take some anger managment classes or parenting classes.  I know hes your dad but theres no excuse for that, dont allow it.  The next time he decides to get angry at you it could be a lot worse.  Love yourself enough to stop it now, and love him enough to not allow him the chance to ever do it again.  Good luck!

  9. i think u should consult someone about your dad...

  10. you should see a doctor, backs can turn into along term problem if you do nothing.
