Sony has a few different 32" models.  If you are looking for a good midrange LCD I would recommend the KDL32M4000.  It is only 720p but in the 32" size range this does not matter.  It has a fairly high contrast ratio for it's size....It is a very good all around investment.

You can never go wrong with Sony products.  I have owned their TV's for 20 years and have zero problems with any of them.  I have their 42 inch LCD projection for over 4 years and no problems whatsoever.
