Ac/Fan problem with 96 cavalier

I have a 96 cavalier and the fan/ac only works if the fan speed is on high, if its lower than that it doesnt work, i dont feel air or hear anything...

any ideas?

  1. It sounds like the fan switch went bad.  


  2. you need to change the blower motor resistor under the dash on the passenger side.two screws to remove the part.its just behind the fan under the dash.

  3. This is a common issue caused by the blower motor resistor failure. Have the blower motor resistor replaced (part is less than $50.00) and all will be well once more.  

  4. Your fan motor low resistor block  failure.

    It's only located under the dash board if you want to replace it by yourself.

    But if you don't know bring it to a reliable CarA/C repair shop
