Ac to dc power (car audio)?

Question

I was wondering if a home audio sub that handles 1000 watts rated at 117volts and only pulls 9 amps would pull WAY more energy than a car audio amp dat pulls 14 volts at 80 amps.

I used one of them online watt calculators and the outcome came to be about the same. i just manted to make sure though
