Acapulco Bay, the most promising entry for the Betfred Mobile Handicap Hurdle at Hereford
Hereford is to stage the Class 5 Betfred Mobile Handicap Hurdle over two miles and a furlong on Wednesday, 21st March. The race that offers a purse worth £1, 689 has assembled the lineup of nine contestants.
Not all the entries have the experience and exposure of racing at Hereford and thus the leading contestant stands out to be Acapulco Bay, Pursuit Of Love’s eight-year-old bay gelding out of mare Lapu-Lapu, as he recently shot a victory at the race course
through the third start of the season.
Acapulco Bay won the New Horseracing Markets At Betvictor.Com Handicap Hurdle on 5th March at Hereford over two miles and a furlong.
He raced through the wire determinedly while only at a length’s distance from the runner up, Midnight Spirit.
Concluding the race third was Mujamead while the 3/1 favourite on the field ended thirteenth on the lineup of seventeen.
This win came his way after staying winless for twelve starts.
Acapulco Bay’s start of the new season was in the Best Odds Guaranteed At Victorchandler.Com Handicap Hurdle on 8th January at Hereford over two miles and a furlong.
The race was won by the ½ favourite of the race, Johnny Owen, who yanked the victory off from Esteem who was reeling in by a mere distance of ¾ of a length. Sendinpost held onto the third position.
Acapulco Bay pulled it to the fourth position after the winner while riding with Christian Williams.
Still winless but not driven down to the fifth position, Acapulco Bay finished fourth in the Whitson Bloodstock “Hands And Heels” Handicap Hurdle on 24th February at Warwick over two miles.
The race was won by Aviso who was soon joined by Sporting Boy, qualifying as the runner up. Coming at terms with the third position was Truckers Princess.
The 11/4 favourite of the race, Santo Thomas, was the last entry to finish the race.
Staying consistent with two fourth positions and then finally winning one, makes Acapulco Bay the most reliable entry on the lineup for today.
Another contender who has raced at Hereford recently is Illegale, who raced the second start of the season at Hereford but could only get stationed sixth on the lineup of seventeen.
