I heard that these are good during and post drinks on the market for runners? Where can I get these? I went to local supermarkets and they didn't seem to have either of these. In what section of the market are they sold? Thank you for your time and advice.

  1. Certain drinks are better at certain times. Runs longer then an hour require carbs.

    - Running under one hour: Drink a low calorie sport drink(G2, PowerAde Zero, Crystal Light Hydration, Luna Sports Electrolyte Splash)

    - Running 1 - 2 hours: Drink a sports drink(Gatorade, PowerAde, Gleukos, Cytomax)

    - Running 2 hours or more: Drink an endurance sport drink(Gatorade Endurance, Powerbar Endurance)

    - Post Run: Recover drinks, Protein shakes, chocolate milk, and smoothies(Myoplex, Powerbar Recovery, Luna Sports Recovery)

Check running stores and sports stores for these various drinks. The only thing you'll find at the food store is Gatorade and Powerade, maybe G2, and Tiger(Gatorade).

Personally I don't like Accelerade. It has whey protein in there and tastes a little powdery.

  2. Honestly both of these drinks are a rip off. I am an expirenced runner for 11 years and all they are are overpriced recovery drinks. This may seem crazy but I guarentee it to work. Chocolate milk is the best drink for after runs. It has the perfect 4:1 carb to protein ratio just like these expensive drinks.

But...If you don't take my advice with the chocolate milk you can probably find these drinks at a local running shop. Probably not Wal-Mart but maybe at a local grocery store.
