Accelerated S.p.e.d?

Wat is accelerated sped, i don't mean to be mean but i heard someone say, "he is in acc. sped." Does that mean you are extra slow or that you are slow but faster than the other ones that are in normal sped?

  1. Students that have learning disabilities are considered special education students and their abilities are usually within at least the average range of ability.  So, you could have a student that was enough above average to qualify to be in at least some accelerated classes, but still have a learning disability in another area.  There are also other categories that could qualify students to receive special education services, and the student could be taking accelerated classes.  Special education is not only for students who are slower to learn.  Hope that makes sense...
