  1. a-bar = (delta v) / (delta t) = (60 mph - 0mph) / (6.8 sec * hr/3600 sec) = 31764 mi/hr^2

    BTW do you own homework.

  2. 6.8 s to reach 60 mile/h from 0

    = 0.001889 hour to reach 60 mile/h from 0

    a = dv/dt = 60mile/h / 0.001889 hour = 31, 764mile/h/h

  3. well, I probably won't be the first answer, but I just want to walk you through the steps.

    It went from 0 to 60mph in 6.8 seconds, right? so the acceleration is:

    60mph/6.8seconds.

    Now, the question wants the answer in mph/h, not mph/s, right?

    so you just chage from seconds into hours.  there are 3600 seconds in one hour, so we say

    60mph        3600s

    ---------   X  ----------

    6.8s               1hr

    do the math, the seconds cancel out, and you get 31,764 mph/hr.

    in case you're wondering, mph is miles per hour, or mi/hr. so mi/hr/hr is the same as saying mi/hr^2
