So I need some help.

I need to get a minor British accent for Cruella De Vil (the part i got in one of my plays) and i am having a whole lot'a trouble with it!

Do you have any tricks to getting the nag of new accents?

Do you have any ideas about how to train myself to do the accent?

Whenever i try it sounds like a mix of New York, Country, and British accents. LOL.

Help?

  1. Listen to recordings of native speakers (movies, TV).  Absorb the rhythms and inflections.  Don't worry to much about the pronunciation of individual words.

There are many, many dialects native to the British Isles arising from different geographical locations and social classes.  There is no "British accent."

  2. Listen to a lot of British actors/actresses.

If you listen enough, will be able to repeat it.

  3. if you know any british people just ask them to say your lines for you...and echo what they say, it may be a bit tiedious but ull get there. If your in Perth WA then msg me privately and ill go through them with you via phone or something.

    gd luck!

  4. try to listen to a video of someone wit and accent and try to say wat they r saying and see how close u get to matching
