  1. Bradley can explode (not with his bat) at any moment. You are giving up way too much for Arod.

Do you need all those closers? I might try to trade one paired with say Huff? for an OF to spell Pence until he wakes up.

    Good luck. Have fun.

  2. you're giving up too much for that. AROD commands a lot of value and so does martin but i think you're team is fine the way it is.

  3. I know this sounds crazy, but I would wait at least two weeks to see where the divorce takes him. Not saying I'm a celeb head, but there are players who go through this during the season and tend to struggle from the distraction.

The dealbreaker here is Martin vs. Doumit and the Bradley factor. Bradley is having a career year, such as a lot of the Rangers, but that team has yet to face AL East pitching, and even without that, how much longer will they hold on to this offense. All these gus ( Kinsler, Murphy, Hamilton ) are having career years, and I wonder if there is going to be some type of tail-off later in the season. Bradley has never played a full healthy season; his upside is so amazing, that I would give him a chance in this trade.

But I would be wary that I am getting rid of a consistent hitter ( Abreu ) whose team has been in an offensive funk. The Yankees, with that lineup, shouldn't stay in that funk for now, and hitters like Abreu will be in position to have really good Summers. Other than the homerun drop-off, Abreu is very consistent in the 2nd half, whereas I am unsure how many games Bradley has accumulated in the 2nd half ever ( I could do a Yahoo analysis but I'm a lil lazy ).

Doumit vs. Martin: Is it possible to get rid of Doumit instead of Martin? If not, it is understandable why the trade would warrant the better catcher.

Seeing the players on your team, it seems you have a small league that is pretty deep. If so, you would be good to take this deal, get rid of the extra catcher, fill Arod at third, you have Bradley on your bench, and hope that your pitching stats don't get lost on Torres' departure.

I am not a fan of accumulating saves. Especially in leagues where each stat is a point value, saves is one value I can win half the time even with just one closer. The variable of winning + the fact that it only accumulates one point for a win usually makes me bias on any closer. But if you need the WHIP and saves, and you don't think another closer is going to come around, I might 2nd think the trade.

But it looks pretty even. In terms of players, its lopsided to whoever is getting the 4, but its in your advantage because you upgrade to Arod, and the other players are on your bench, so their overall stats are secondary to you being able to utilize them when they are hot. This can go either way, and I would ask if I can put Doumit in the trade instead of Martin, and think hard about Ramirez production with a great offensive team, and Bradley playing an entire season.

I probably made it more confusing, but this is a judgment call I can only answer by your starting lineup needs.
