Question:

Accepting Premium Rate Number (in the UK)?

Does it cost anything to answer a premium number?

'Cos we've been receiving a lot of calls from companies pretending to be our bank or our gas company and saying they need to get into our account to sort out some problem.

Anyways I was just wondering if accepting the call was of any cost to me 'cos I would reaaally love to give 'em a piece of my mind but not if it's gonna end up costing me like £10 per minute.

Thanks. xo

  1. If you answer their call the cost is nothing. But

rather than give them a piece of your mind(they are trained for it.Water off a ducks

    back)Have them hang on.After 15 minutes ask

if they are still there. Then tell them to hang on.

When it costs them money they soon get sick.

Or you can call the Telephone Preference Service and tell them you don't want to receive cold calls.Their registration line is

    0845 070 0707 and it's a free service.If it's

a message you answer the charge is huge.
