Hello, i have installed windows server 2003 in a computer in my house, make a domain, connected all the computers in my house to the domain. I can access shared files on one of my XP computers (connected to the domain) but the server cannot access any shared files. Giving the error message \\computername is not accessible. I've looked in the permissions stuff for shared files and folders but it seems to be all good. Please help!!! Thanks

  1. you must give the access to" modify " then only you can access the data from server

  2. Are you able to resolve "\\computername"?  Sounds like a name resolution issue, not a permissions issue.  Try connecting by IP instead of computer name to test this theory.

If IP works, your DNS ain't right, make sure to allow NetBIOS over TCP in your NIC properties.
