Access restriction deoesnt work on router?

I have a linksys router wireless. I made a policy on the router no access 24 hours everyday then Ilisted mac addresses in table I dont want on and enabled policy but they show up again on network. Not e:do not want to encrypt boss doesnt want it,

Why do they get on again after enable policy? WRT310 model

  1. You can check with Linksys support, but generally I have found the only way to get MAC filtering to work is to simply allow only those mac addresses you want to serve.  Don't set a policy, just enable mac filtering and input the MAC's you want to allow.

    The router will ignore all others once that is set.

    This is sort of the reverse of what you are doing,  you tell the router to just ALLOW ONLY these MAC's to connect and you won't care when etc so no other access control by date etc is needed.

    This really is a poor (make that very poor) filter system, Its just tooooo easy to change or spoof a MAC address!  You might tell your boss that without encryption anyone, (yes anyone) can read all transmitted packets - including usernames, passwords, logins, email bodies just about everything.
