Question:

Accessing my DVR recordings?

Is it possible to access the recordings on the new dvr systems (if you don't pay the bill, the cable gets shut off as does access to the shows you've recorded)? Are there any hacks that would allow me to access my recorded shows?

  1. That is correct. Assuming your DVR is provided from the cable company, if you cancel your service you forfeit your DVR recordings. It is the cable company's equipment. You are only allowed to borrow it during your service contract.

If it is a stand alone DVR (not tied to the service provider) then you can watch your recordings any time you want without any issue.
