Question:

Accident and traffic infringement notice in NSW?

I had an accident in Queanbeyan a few weeks ago and the police officer told me that because my car was undriveable, that classified it as a major accident and someone had to be issued an infringement notice, regardless of discretion. But other people I've spoken to say that since there was no injuries or anything, the police didn't have to issue a notice and a police officer I spoke to from Melbourne said he wouldn't have issued anything. It would just be an insurance thing. What are the rules about this?

  1. I have never heard of this at all and the police have no business doing this, they are only police officers and not insurance agents, you need to talk with your insurance company to see if they can help you and good luck.

  2. I've gone through the similiar thing -- still a little bit painful, here is the resource help me out.http://car-insurance.bestips.info/car-in...
