Question:

Accidental OBE?

One night I was attempting to fall asleep, only to find myself stricken with insomnia. So I lay in bed until there was nothing to do but think about sleep. Anyway, after two hours I noticed my legs were very heavy. I lifted my head to see my legs and they were fine- I just couldn't move 'em. After much squirming and wriggling they were back to normal, but like half an hour later it was the same thing. Then my left arm followed in paralysis. My whole body save for my neck, head, and right arm was stiff as a board. Then the screaming started.

It wasn't me screaming, but it was like just, hundreds- maybe thousands of people SREAMING IN MY EARS. It was bloody awful. Then my body started heating up and I was totally immobile. My body felt like it was sinking through the mattress, into a smoldering pit of lava. The icing on the cake was a tight squeezing around my neck that wouldn't give. I kept saying stop, over and over until I could breathe easily again. It was wierd.

  1. it could have been a fit?

  2. You may want to read books written by Robert Monroe on OBE's. So far, in my opinion, he has written quality information on this topic.

  3. it could be some sort of a dream

  4. If you would have just relaxed and got rid of your fear..(which is easier said than done)  you could have just rolled or stepped out of your body and walked around your house.

It's called Astral Projection and I do it all the time.

You can ask questions here and look at other people's experiences without all of the judgement you get here on Yahoo Answers...

  5. This is without a doubt the intergalactic sleep sheep. Those things are heavy and make one dreadful noise.

The only known cure is count them.

  6. I've had this experience before. I call it a "pre" out of body experience. The paralysis, I believe, is complete relaxation of your body. You cannot separate if you feel your foot itch or your knee hurt etc. I can induce this same feeling with deep hypnosis. Next, your energy was building up. That was the "sound" issue and the movement was the beginning of separation. Your fear of "sinking into hot lava," that we equate with h**l was enough to keep you bound to your body where you could control the situation.

We frequently go out of body when we sleep and recall the experience as a dream. What freaks folks out is going out of body with conscious awareness. If you ever have felt yourself on the verge of sleep and snapping like you were going to fall off the bed- that is reentry. Play with this- its is fun and even if you don't separate the deep meditation feels great.

  7. Sounds like you were dreaming to me. It may have been Sleep Paralysis. It does not sound paranormal to me. If you were having an OBE you would have known it.

  8. This is a very common occurrance to have happen.....Dont be afraid its not anything haunting you.....

You went into slight sleep paraylsis, which caused a slight out of body experience, but without actually going anywhere far, you just touched the border of a spirit realm...that is why you and them interacted with one another....seems like you went into a dark place for awhile....

  9. you might want to check out youtube and search for videos about similar experiences, there are lots of testimonials. there are some christian ones that might interest you... I say this because this sounds a little like an experience of h**l or a spiritual attack. Maybe it was just a bad nightmare. Did you do any drugs in the days previous to this experience? Any kind of mind altering activity or anything occult? Watch something scary or read a freaky book? Just some things to consider that may have played a role.

  10. Sounds a little like sleep paralysis.(I hope!) lol I'll find you a link in case you don't know about it.
