Accidentally erased system files ??? System Error

I was at a concertI was enthusastically making room on my mp3 player by deleting files.It was taking a long time.I think I accidentally erased some of the mp3 player system software.Now it says "System err"It starts up but after saying system err it can't even be turned off. Nothing. Nada. Nilch.Where can I find the system software. If i find the original disk that came with it will it be there?Best,Yvonne
