I was making a pixel art piece in MS Paint and I saved it as a JPG file on accident. Now the pixels are blurred and it looks like ****.

Anyway to restore it to PNG or some other, non-blurred image or am I out of luck?

  1. MS Paint is the worse graphics editor you can use.  If you want one that is free, user friendly and has better tools, then download GetPaint:

    http://www.getpaint.net/

I don't think MS Paint has an Option setting for saving an image every X minutes in a default format otherwise I would suggest looking in the default folder.

  2. just wondering does it have a history palette  that you can click back in , if not i would say you are out of luck , but there may be some one out there that knows different to me sorry can not help any further

  3. Open paint and go to the file on the top toolbar and find what you saved your picture as (close to the bottom), open it and save it as whatever you want. I believe that when you open it, it shouldn't open as the JPEG you saved it as

  4. saving a pixle piece as a jpeg is like flattening on photoshop, theres no way to go back. unless you get luck with the sharpen tool in photoshop theres not much you can do.

  5. JPEG is a lossy compression format, meaning that information is lost when the image is compressed. Unless you have a backup copy of the original image somewhere, there is no way to get that information back.

  6. I am fairly certain that if you save it as a certain file type, there is no way to change it back. I suppose you could open the file, go into "Save As..." and try saving it as a BMP or PNG file. This may not help matters, however. Sorry.
