Accidently sprayed antibacterial dish soap on my garden plants...?

Are they going to die? They look pretty bad. I just didn't know you couldn't use the anti bacterial kind (oops)... They turned a little yellow and shriveled looking and the leaves are falling off the bell pepper plant. This was about a week ago but it looks like the damage stopped and they may be bouncing back... just with a few less leaves than they started out. The tomoto plants look the best, but my cantaloupe and bell pepper look the worst :'(

  1. Yeah, damage has been done.  Keep washing the plants but I suspect little residual remains.  It's hard to know exactly what product is in the soap giving it antibacterial qualities.  Alcohol would be a quick burn, some of the other products I don't know.

Could have also been too high a soap concentration and have nothing to do with antibacterial.  Not all plants tolerate soap, it's best to do a test patch before spraying the whole garden.  Also if the plants were stressed, they are more likely injured.

  2. Keep rinsing the plants - maybe they will recuperate.

but rinse them three times a  day at least - until they spring back.

Do not be disappointed if this does not happen.

  3. keep them watered really good. should wash away the soap.
