Acclamation ready to notch the Grade 1 Eddie Read Stakes at Del Mar for the second time
Acclamation looks like he is in the best possible form and, he is ready to bolt through the 1 1/8 mile track in the Grade 1 Eddie Read Stakes at Del Mar on 21st
July, 2012.
Trained by Donald Warren, the runner is bringing his winning form to the track.
Donald Warren took him through some work-outs and, a drill to enhance his form and he proved to be in amazing shape.
With rider Patrick Valenzuela, the six-year-old horse went around orange cones in the middle of the track and completed the six furlong track in an impressive time of 1 minute and 14.40 seconds.
Acclamation, son of Unusual Heat, foaled by mare Winning In Style, has secured ten massive victories from his 29 starts and, seems to be the biggest threat to the other runners in the Eddie Read Stakes.
With earnings of $1,778,048, he is entering this race in search of another Grade 1 victory. He aced this race last year on 23rd July, 2011, where he completed the 1 1/8 miles in 1 minute and 46.99 and defeated Jeranimo, under
Joel Rosario.
The horse looks in extremely good form and regarding his work-outs, breeder and co-owner, Bud Johnston, commented:
“I like the way he looked coming home.” He further commented: “He went super good. I love the way he finished. He’s just doing great.”
Owned by Mary Hilvers, Peter Hilvers, E. W. Johnston and Judy Johnston, Acclamation is on a winning streak and has notched six consecutive victories, aiming for the seventh one.
The older division runner triumphed in his seasonal debut in an incredible manner, when he defeated, the Simon Callaghan trained Slim Shadey, in the Grade 1 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap.
At the Betfair Hollywood Park on 9thJune, 2012, Acclamation efficiently completed the 1 1/4 miles distance in 2 minutes and 01.50 seconds.
Ready to compete in this mega-event, he will compete against Slim Shadey again along with Chad Brown’s charge Casino Host, and the Ronald McAnally trained Suggestive Boy, who recently finished as a runner-up in the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile on 30th June,
2012.
