Question:

Accommodation Advice for Cinque Terre, Italy?

Hello! I am visiting the Cinque Terre area in August - PEAK season. I am having trouble finding accommodation but I have been told people living in the area rent out their spare rooms. If someone out there has done this - can i ask:

1) Will it be easy for me to turn up on the day and find somewhere to stay?

2) Approx how much does it cost for a double room?

Hope someone can help!

  1. I personally wouldn't just show up hoping to find something.  Try this website:

Monterosso is the largest of the towns.  Try goggling Cinque Terre for their website for accoms.

We stayed at Hotel Souvenir, which was pretty good.  It's in the old part of town, which is VERY charming.  Have fun!  Watch out for medusa's....

  2. The ideal is to rent a place in Levanto. It is generally cheaper and is a short train ride away. You can buy a daily pass to go backwards and forwards between the towns of the cinque terre. Levanto also has a decent beach and some good restaurants - not overpriced to anywhere near the extent of the places in the cinque terre villages. Some great places to rent in the villages themselve can be found here http://www.interhome.co.uk/?userlang=03&...

  3. There you go

  4. I did a search and found 6 hotels near the Cinque Terre area -- you'll be able to quote each property and see what's available.

    Good luck!
