Any recommended decent place to stay for less than 50 Euro/ night? How much is the rate for business hotel or backpacker hotel?

Am planning to go on the last week of September. How is likely the weather there at the time?

Thank you all

  1. Though I've never stayed in Nice specifically, Etap is a well-known, no-frills hotel chain. It's kind of non-descript, but provides the basics- a clean, safe room that includes a toilet and shower in the price range that you're looking for.

  2. ACCOR hotels have a good selection (Novotel, Mercure, IBIS, etc) - check their website (www.accorhotels.com)

Monte Carlo worth a visit - don't gamble too much at the Casino! Cannes & Antibes are cool - easy to get the train or bus from Nice.

End of sept. should still be warm enough for the beach (remember - topless is common and plenty of nude beaches also so don't be shy).

Food is fantastic - search for the local markets where farmers bring their produce right to town.

Try Lonley Planet or Rough Guides books for info on everything from accommodation, transport, customs, food, etc.

Love to see your photo's when you're back. Enjoy!
