Question:

Accommodation for single in singapore ?

As a single, I'm not eligible to buy a HDB flat. Private properties such as condo are beyond my affordability. Is there other options for me to own my own home, without having to rent a place? Thanks.

[Note: I can afford to pay about s$1000 per month to finance a home for myself]

  1. Hi,

I think there is no other ways. Property is very expensive in Singapore, even local Singaporean will think thrice when buying or can't afford at all.

My suggestion for you is : you can probably settle yourself down with a rented 3 room unit  for now (may cost around S$1.2K per month, depending on location). If you have long term plans here, perhaps you should think of accumulating your wealth with a proper job first. Things will be smoother after you obtain your PR or citizenship.

  2. Find an agent, say them your budget.. because property prices is booming here and expensive in the world down here. If your a single, just go rent a HDB common room, without toilet. You will be working anyway, just come back home to take a good sleep. Aircon, Internet, Washing Machine, Cooking facilities you may share with the owner or a tenant who sublets you with the owner's permission. The agent will explain you. Propnex is a nice firm. Make sure you get the copy of tenancy agreement.
